Noritake

In the year 1876 a young former diplomat named Baron Ichizaemon Morimura established MORIMURA BROTHERS (Japan's first fine china trading company), opening a retail and wholesale showroom in New York City. In doing so he began to realise his personal vision of bringing the unique beauty and elegance of Japan's distinctive fine china, gifts and decorative products to the outside world.

In 1904, Morimura established his own manufacturing company in the little village of Noritake (now part of modern day Nagoya) and a future icon of the Tableware industry was born. In the ensuing century the Noritake name has become synonymous with distinctive design, innovative technologies and an uncompromising commitment to quality. In 2009 Noritake continues to be a market leader with superior artistry and craftsmanship bringing beauty, form and function to dining tables around the world - Noritake "The Standard of Perfection"
