Laura Martin (with an Italian mother, Ukrainian father and Indian husband) admits her designs are very much shaped by a fascination of different cultures. In Bombay for a Hindu wedding Laura had the chance to visit many relatives and was fascinated to see their kitchens. Inspired by ‘vatis’, the stainless steel pot used to store indian spices, Laura set about adapting them to her New York kitchen. Needless to say the only space available space was wall space.
